P52 Photo Challenge – Made with Love

This week’s challenge was: Made with Love.

Since Dearest and I have moved into our first place together, cooking is one of the absolute joys I focus a great deal of my time on!

I’ve learned that experimenting in the kitchen without a recipe in hand is not quite so stressful after all. There aren’t many times where I’ve been known to forgo what the cookbook says to create something with my imagination and familiarity of ingredients.

Lately though, that’s changed.

I still have my a deep, deep love for cookbooks – especially those with recipes I just could have never created on my own, but I like feeling comfortable in my “kitchen skin,” too, or better yet – being inspired by those cookbooks.

This picture represents something I hoped to perfect, but a large part of me was doubtful. Growing up, roast was one of my favorite meals. Absolutely loved it!

But this time? I attempted it on my own.

And I was successful!

And I couldn’t have been happier!

And I feel so proud!

And I made it with love!

I love to cook and to bake!! I took some time off work recently and cooked every night and tried two new recipes, it was so fulfilling!!! I wish that I could cook every night, but I have to work till 8pm sometimes and that is the last thing I want to do when I get home.

But the crockpot can be a lifesaver on those days :)

  6. Pot roast is one of my absolute favorites, but I’ve yet to perfect it. Yours looks delicious!

  7. Yum! I often make a roast veg recipe as it is soooo easy just to chunky chop the veg, throw into the roasting pan and shove in the oven for an hour – and it never fails to taste delicious!
